In the far south west corner of Western Australia, a broad peninsula projects into the Indian Ocean.

Running north to south along its western edge, between Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin, is a windswept limestone ridge, perched on a basement of ancient and resistant granite rocks.

This long thin strip of land forms the backbone of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, and is the setting of the Cape to Cape Walk Track, a 140 kilometre long trail.

Hikers may complete it from end to end, or sample short sections, revelling in the magnificent coastal scenery, heathlands and forests of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge. Many points along the Track are easily accessible for short or longer walks.

The Friends of the Cape to Cape Track Inc was formed in 1998 to help establish and maintain the track, increase appreciation of it and its vulnerability, encourage community 'ownership' and to further the principles of minimum-impact bushwalking and sustainable environmental use.

For more details and an overview map of the Track, and for details of the 'Friends', have a look at our website (click above), or e-mail us with specific enquiries. Call in to the Margaret River Visitor Centre for our brochure and The Cape to Cape Track Guidebook ($21.95), and for help in booking accommodation along the way.

Several tour operators offer guided walks along the Track. For their details, and for walker-friendly accommodation, check out the Accommodation / Services Guide on the Cape to Cape Track website.

Low-key campsites have been installed along the Track with small watertanks, though these should not be totally relied upon. Please note the Trig Hill Campsite has not yet been constructed (May 2008).
