Cape to Cape MTB Hits Margaret River Region
In October the Margaret River region will host Western Australia’s newest and most exciting mountain bike event – Cape to Cape MTB. Set to an iconic backdrop of world-famous surf beaches and vineyards, private farmlands, rocky outcrops and national forests, Cape to Cape MTB is a unique and challenging four-day ride traversing the coastal ridge from Cape Leeuwin in the south to Cape Naturalist in the north.
Taking in a network of dedicated tracks between the overnight stops at Hamelin Bay, Margaret River and Yallingup, Cape to Cape MTB showcases the region as most people will have never seen it before.
Discounts and Ride Options
Cape to Cape MTB if offering an early bird special and various ride options for the inaugural event, 22 to 25 October 2008. Offering cheaper prices and flexibility for entrants, an early bird special gives riders a 10% discount on entries received before Monday, 22 September, while new ride options cater to those who may not be able to take the full week off work or perhaps aren’t up to riding the full distance. Riders can now choose from the half ride and one-day ride options starting at $148.17.
MTB Course Set To Challenge And Excite
A winter recce by the Cape to Cape MTB team was the first time the full 175km course had been ridden, providing proof that the Cape to Cape MTB course has it all – fast and thrilling downhill, short and sharp climbs (and a few longer climbs), winding sections through thick forest and open stretches along the coastal ridge and across private fields.
