Wine Tourism Showroom

Margaret River has become renowned around the world for its premium wines. During the past 35 years a thriving wine industry has developed with many new wineries opening up each year.

There is no better place to start a journey of discovery through the wine region than a visit to the WINE TOURISM SHOWROOM at the Margaret River Visitor Centre. The regional centre is recognised as being among the most advanced and high-tech of its kind in the country having won various awards over the years.

The most recent award is the 2005 Western Australia Tourism Awards Category Winner in the category of DESTINATION PROMOTION presented by Tourism Council Western Australia and won for the second time. 

The centre is at the same time both fun and educational.Features include regular wine tasting-representing our many wine members-and extending your knowledge of why wine manners matter.

A bottle display winds around the centre of the showroom advertising the many wine labels available from the vineyards.

A video illustrates the origins of the wine making industry in Margaret River and the viticultural advantages of the region. In addition there is a glass display,a sensory display of aromas of some grape varieties and wine making paraphernalia.

We invite you to become a full bottle on Margaret River wine before you go out and discover the real thing for yourself!

Educational Lectures have been organised for visiting schools and the date can be arranged through the Visitor Centre.
