Although traditionally known for its exceptional wines, the region has recently welcomed the emergence of a close-knit and creative boutique brewery fraternity. There are a number of breweries to explore each with distinctive styles; from the more traditional pale ales and pilsners to preservative and additive free brews. For something a little different you can sample more adventurous creations like ginger or chocolate beer. It’s easy to while away an afternoon at one of the breweries especially since many have regular live music and events. They also provide quality culinary experiences that rival many of their more famous winery counterparts!
