2019 International Chenin Blanc Symposium
07/12/2019 @ 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm$75
L.A.S. Vino will be hosting the inaugural International Chenin Blanc Symposium + Sausage sizzle at the Willyabrup Hall on December 7th 2019, at 3pm.
With an aim to benchmark West Australian Chenin Blanc against the best in the world. L.A.S. VINO’s winemaker Nic Peterkin said “To our knowledge this is the first time something like this has been done with Chenin Blanc in Australia, which is pretty exciting”
“The time is right, Western Australia has a lot of Chenin Blanc planted, the grape is versatile, has great acidity, outstanding flavour and has the potential to make world-class wines, equal to that of Chardonnay and Cabernet. We hope this tasting will show that. This could be the next Judgement of Paris” said Peterkin.
West Australian wines that will be showcased on the day include; Tripe Iscariot, Dormilona, Voyager, John Kosovich, Wines of Merrit and L.A.S. Vino alongside some world-class wines from France and South Africa. Tickets are $75 and are available at www.lasvino.com
The Willyabrup Hall is set in the heart of the Margaret River Wine Region. Located just north of Margaret River township, Willyabrup is home to some of the region’s earliest (and most respected) wineries. The Hall has a long history in the community, it was first built around 1928 as a teacher’s quarters for the school. The building exemplifies local architectural design reserved for school buildings in the early 20th century.
