Between the Capes | A fine art journey along the South West coastline
Next Occurrence: Wednesday, 5th February 2025
10:00am to 4:00pm
Description
Join artists, Jacqui Brown, Jamie Roper and Shelley McNab (Seasaltware Ceramics) for a deep dive into our beautiful coastal landscape.
Each artist will be launching a brand new series of works.
Jacqui is experimenting in a new medium that will lend itself to a more abstract approach. She’s hoping to portray the capes from a seagulls perspective, high above looking topographically.
Having walked the Cape daily, the essence of the Naturaliste-Leeuwin ridge has soaked into Jacqui’s soul. Jacqui will also have some of her traditional pieces of local beaches and forests available too.
Jamie’s new landscape paintings will take us on a journey, as we join in adventures through the capes region. Look for the local landmarks, and enjoy a totally new colour palette as Jamie explores the landscape at night.
Shelley has a new series ‘Surfing the Capes’ a multiple piece ceramic installation celebrating the limestone coast, hot summer days and salty sea spray. Each piece will have a connection to surf breaks between the lighthouses.
Come to Margaret River HEART – Nala Bardip Mia and celebrate our beautiful and precious coastline and be the first to view these new works.
Exhibition opening night is Saturday 8th February, 6-8pm and afterward is open Mon-Fri from 10am to 4pm until the Tuesday 19th February. Free entry and all welcome.
