Dunsborough SongFest 2019
9 November 2019 - 10 November 2019Paid Event
Dunsborough SongFest is excited to announce that 40 singing groups comprising some 700 singers are coming to Dunsborough to celebrate our 10th anniversary.
Tickets are on sale now for the events two big concerts on Saturday night and for our great value Weekend Pass. There will be 8 singing workshops and 12 concerts featuring community choirs and amazing singing groups. There is something for everyone – from visionary electro pop duets to mass choirs, with bespoke arrangements and handcrafted harmonies. Extraordinary groups like WAAPA’s Eneksis choir, crowd favourites Men of the West, award winning The Baden Street Singers and the exquisite Summerhouse ensemble. The festival runs over the weekend of 9 and 10 November 2019.
Event Director Matthew Clements said the program would appeal to all ages, singers, live music lovers and anyone wanting to feel the Dunsborough ocean vibe during springtime. The combination of Dunsborough’s laid back holiday feel, the gorgeous beach environment coupled with the unique festival offerings has proven a winner with the festival growing from a small beginning to the largest singing event of its type in the state.
“I think our program celebrates and connects community through song. Many of our performances are free to attend, including out Town Concert series on Saturday morning at Lions Park, Centre Point Shopping Centre and in the IGA Atrium. A special feature of the family friendly weekend is that all events are FREE to Under 18s! All venues are easy to reach and the diversity of talent is breathtaking!”
“Our line-up is huge and features home-grown talent talent performing alongside choirs and groups from Perth and regional WA. It is unlikely that any regional town in this state has ever experienced anything quite like it.”
“We have everything from The Lost Quays, who are sailing in from Fremantle, to the hilariously irreverent Jones of ARK duo! Some of the stars of this year’s festival include a cappella ensemble MD7, new trio The Pink Roses, rising stars Koko, female shanty group She Shants, national barbershop champions A Cappella West and the delightful ukulele playing group – Trilogy.”
Weekend pass holders can choose from 8 workshops. No experience is needed to participate. You can choose from learning a new type of singing through to technical workshops on vocal production.
Matthew said “Dunsborough SongFest is uniquely Dunsborough-esque in flavour. We’ve got live music in many of the community buildings around Dunsborough – the Old Dunsborough Hall, St George Family Centre, Our Lady of Cape Primary School, St George Anglican Church, Our Lady of the Southern Cross Catholic Church, St George Anglican Church and the A-frame Church of Christ. The town centre venues really bring the event to everyone!”
“Weekend Passes are the recommended best buy. For a modest outlay you can choose from the full range of what is on offer this year. Mix and match your personal choice of workshops and concerts. Stop awhile and enjoy a beverage and yummy food. Food and drink will be available at the Saturday night event. Also a fabulous choice of eateries in the town centre and beyond ”
Ticketing is made easy this year with Weekend Passes and tickets to the TWO Big Concerts on Saturday night bookable through Dunsborough Song Fest’s website. Tickets to all other individual event tickets are available at the door.
