Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival – Crafting New Worlds: A Worldbuilding Writers’ Workshop

Step into the art of worldbuilding in YA and adult fiction.

Hosted by Bianca Breen (Made of Steam and Stardust) and guest authors Inga Simpson (The Thinning) and Chris Flynn (Orpheus Nine), this interactive workshop dives into how authors craft immersive worlds, blending fantasy, worldbuilding and dystopia with technology. Engage in discussions, brainstorm unique settings and refine your ideas. Then, put your creativity to the test in a micro-fiction competition—imagine a fantasy world with a technological twist for a chance to win a cash prize ($150 First prize, $100 Second prize)!

Judges will reward originality and innovation.
