Description

Yallingup Galleries proudly presents Cape to Cape Landscapes, a solo exhibition by award-winning Australian artist Chris Martin.

This new series, inspired by the iconic Cape to Cape Trail in Western Australia’s South West, opens on Saturday, 4 January 2025, at 5 pm, inviting all to an evening celebrating art, wine, and connection to nature.

Chris Martin’s love for the Australian landscape began at the age of fifteen when he received his first set of pastels, sparking a lifelong journey of capturing the unique beauty of remote regions in Western Australia. Over the past two decades, he has honed his skills, travelling extensively to document WA’s diverse terrains and creating works that emphasise the natural interplay of light, colour, and texture.

In Cape to Cape Landscapes, Chris showcases the changing hues and intricate beauty of the Cape to Cape Track. Known for his technical mastery with pastels, his pieces highlight the raw beauty of WA’s coastlines, forests, and trails. Each artwork authentically reflects the South West’s landscape, celebrating the subtle shifts in light and shadow that shape the terrain. Chris transforms his own experiences into paintings, allowing viewers to connect deeply with the spirit of this land.

The exhibition catalogue will be accessible online from 24 December 2024, providing art lovers an early preview of Chris’s remarkable works exploring the Cape to Cape region’s landscapes.

Yallingup Galleries warmly invites art enthusiasts, nature lovers, and adventurers to visit Cape to Cape Landscapes and experience Chris Martin’s tribute to one of WA’s most cherished trails.
