Yarning Nature Tribute Tree Meeting – Young @ HEART: Over 60’s Mornings
21 September 2020 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pmFree
In order to keep as much of our community as possible safely involved in the Arts, every Monday until further notice from 10am – 12pm noon, the HEART is only open to those aged over 60. If you are under 60, please come back after 12pm or choose another time for your visit. Thank you for helping to keep our community safe!
Young @ HEART is a weekly opportunity for visitors to come out and enjoy special events including live performances, our latest exhibitions and cinema screenings in the Foyer Gallery during this time.
On Monday the 21st of September, starting 10am, The Tribute Tree is hosting an event to celebrate our appreciation and enjoyment of our Wooditjup Bilya (Margaret River) environments. Sharing their stories around nature, elders Wayne Webb, Lyn Serventy, Ross Goulden and Molly Hall will be talking about an area of the natural world that energises and compels them.
All participants will be encouraged to follow suit, sharing your memories of sweet moments spent with nature, stories of your adventures into the wilds, quiet times of enthrallment and wonder. Whether in Western Australia’s wide landscapes or in your own backyards, an insect or bird or plant, a weather system or particular season. Absolutely anything and even the sky is not the limit. What fills you with wonder or continues to inspire you?
After sharing our stories of pleasure in nature a sumptuous morning tea will be served, followed by an opportunity to write or draw your own tribute (or tributes!) to the natural world. All tributes are expected to be published in a volume provided free to our community as a celebration of our appreciation for the natural world that holds us. Come share the love!
