Day One:

Make your way south into Busselton.  Spend some time exploring the seaside town. Take the kids to the skate park, check out the beach, the jetty, historic spots, even pop in to some shops. Before you leave, stop off at a supermarket and grab some sausages, steaks and your favourite salad ingredients for that requisite Aussie summer dinner – the ‘barbie’.

Check in at Amblin Holiday Park, where you will be taking some time out for rest and relaxation in your very own safari tent, beach bungalow or hut. Brand new to the Park’s superb comfort camping grounds is the option to ‘glamp’ – that is, to camp in absolute ease and style in a beautifully appointed, fully equipped and spacious safari tent that’s fitted out for the whole family to enjoy. The Park’s direct proximity to the beach spells one thing: summer fun.

Day Two

Nourish yourself with a healthy continental breakfast in your room and then it’s a 30 minute drive to the Old Boat Ramp on Finlayson Street in Dunsborough. There you will be hopping on a jet boat for one of Jet Adventures extraordinary tours – either the ‘Cape Naturaliste Wilderness Cruise’ or the ‘Canal Rocks Ocean Safari’.  Both tours will allow you to witness spectacular landscapes, incredible geographical formations and wonderful wilderness including encounters with dolphins, seals and sea-lions. Each tour goes for approximately two to three hours.

After that exhilarating adventure, continue the fun with a round of mini golf at Simmo’s Ice Creamery. With sand bunkers and water hazards the 18 hole course is sure to incite some competition and certainly many laughs. The best part is, when you’re done you can reward yourself with a scoop or two of Simmo’s “udderly famous” sixty ice cream flavours.

Choose a spot for dinner from one of the local restaurants, breweries or taverns in Dunsborough or Busselton.

Day Three

Today, you’ll be exploring Yallingup and its surrounds.  Start your day at Yallingup Maze where you can challenge yourself and your family with the mind-boggling timber maze.  Keep testing your skills and teasing your brain while you enjoy lunch in the fully licensed and air-conditioned Puzzle Cafe.

Spend the afternoon cruising between surf breaks and beaches and be sure to check out some of the many art galleries in Yallingup before stopping off at a nearby eatery for some dinner.

Day Four

It’s time to head a little further south – it’s out with seaside glamping and in with beachfront apartment life. Taking a drive down the incredibly beautiful Caves Road will afford you many a cellar door stop, whiling away the time before checking in at your next accommodation, Margarets Beach Resort in Gnarabup. The resort is some of the best beachside holiday accommodation around with a wide range of beautifully presented apartments perched within walking distance to the much-loved swimming beach.

Spend an evening kangaroo spotting aboard a classic 1962 four-wheel drive Bedford Truck. With McLeod Tours’ ‘Sunset Kangaroo Safari’. Your host Neil will teach you about the native flora and fauna as you coast through the family farm.  A highlight is an afternoon tea of home baked orange cake paired with ‘billy’ tea boiled by Neil on the banks of Dudley Creek.

Day Five

Venture out to Rosa Brook for some horse riding at Jesters Flat, a working equestrian farm and vineyard.  There are a wide variety of tours and trails to choose from to suit all abilities that will take you through captivating paddocks and bushlands.  Once you have returned from your outback adventure, visit the cellar door to taste the premium Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc produced in the small boutique vineyard.

Day Six

Book in for one of the fascinating tours curated by the team at Bushtucker River & Wine Tours. Bushtucker Tours was founded by Helen Lee whose background in anthropology and botany inspired her to create tours that educate travelers on the local environment while having fun and creating memories to last a lifetime. We recommend the ‘Margaret River Canoe Tour’ which takes you out onto the Margaret River and in which you can enjoy a delectable lunch of unique Australian bush foods including emu, crocodile and kangaroo. Feel refreshed floating along crystal clear waters and taking dips in tranquil rock pools.

Day Seven

Have a leisurely last day with a stroll through Margaret River town’s shops, cafes and galleries. You’ll find many brimming with beautiful locally made products and produce.

Head north back up Bussell Highway to arrive back in Perth.
