Day One

Meet your driver or pick up your hire car from Perth Airport or the city and head south to the Busselton Jetty Precinct. Enjoy the lively atmosphere with numerous cafes and restaurants that are ideal for lunch. Take a stroll along the 150-year-old, heritage-listed Busselton Jetty that stretches 1.8 kilometres over stunning the Geographe Bay. Or sit back and relax on the Jetty Train. At the end of the jetty, descending 8 metres beneath the waters’ surface, visitors can view the amazing corals and fish life within the Busselton Jetty Underwater Observatory. Busselton’s white sandy beach is also great for a swim.

Travel to your luxurious accommodation for an afternoon and evening of relaxation, pampering and indulgence. After you have checked in, depending on the season either relax with a glass of wine by the fire in the Lodge or enjoy drinks and a cheese platter by the swimming pool.  Revitalise yourself with one of the many pampering options at the day spa.

Enjoy a six-course degustation dinner featuring seasonal local and home grown produce matched with Margaret River’s premium wines at the famous Lakeside Restaurant. Or for something lighter choose the Chef’s Tasting or a la carte menu. Retire to your luxuriously appointed room.

Day Two

Enjoy a lazy lakeside breakfast then head out for a day full of local lifestyle, spectacular scenery and glorious natural experiences. Your first stop is Margaret River town. Enjoy a walk along one of the river trails or stroll through the cosmopolitan town, checking out the shops, art galleries and cafes. Drop in to the Margaret River Visitor Centre for up to date seasonal info and a great map.

Then take the highway south to Western Australia’s most south-westerly town, Augusta. Enjoy views across the Hardy Inlet and Flinders Bay and be sure to look for whales in season. Continue to Australia’s tallest mainland lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin. Go to the top of this working lighthouse and enjoy breathtaking views across the treacherous oceans and Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park. Enjoy a coffee or light meal at the Cape Leeuwin Cafe, while keeping an eye out for rare rock parrots, petrels, albatross and gannets.

After some of the world’s best coastal sightseeing, head back towards your accommodation via scenic Caves Road. Stop in at the award-winning Jewel Cave. This spectacular, highly decorative ancient cave with its three massive chambers is Western Australia’s biggest show cave. Enter through the architecturally designed Jewel Cave Preservation Centre which features retail and cafe facilities complete with an interpretive area.

Continue north on Caves Road to the towering Boranup Karri Forest. Stop at the lookout and take in the enormity of the planet’s third tallest tree or deviate into the forest to completely absorb the forest environment.

Keep heading north along Caves Road but make sure you take to turn off to Margaret River’s world-famous Surfers Point. Watch the surfers as the sun begins to set over the Indian Ocean. Return to Cape Lodge.
