Cafe Boranup

Restaurants & Cafes

Overview

Cafe Boranup is surrounded by nature in the South West bush. If your idea of a great meal is genuine chef-cooked food, housemade cakes, chutneys, jams, smooth coffee and friendly local staff with Eucalyptus bush scents and Splendid Fairy (blue) Wrens, then we are the cafe for you!

More information

Our customers vary widely from those stopping by coming back from a surf at Boranup Beach, a group taking photos of the Karri forest, artists who produce great items at the amazing Boranup Gallery next door or visitors checking out caves, wine and whales in the region, or families just getting out of town for the day.

We have disabled facilities, local information, playground for the kids, and couches with books and board games for all!

We would love for you to visit us and the Boranup Gallery next door, and then you can be on your way to explore further our beautiful Boranup area, with opportunities for photography galore.

We have a really passionate team of local staff, we aim to produce genuinely good quality food and drinks with an emphasis on local suppliers. (We are also known to sing the odd tune during the working day - Talent agents are unlikely to sign us, but we keep on singing anyway). The cafe has a great feel, solid jarrah tables in a building made of rammed earth walls with plenty of full glass windows to view the bush. Art from the Boranup Gallery next door and native birdlife in our garden and kids play area. A decking area with clear blinds and couches. The Summer menu we serve both light bites and hearty meals, made from food as local and fresh as we can find! Our daily specials include curries, pastas, fish and soups, every now and then an NT crocodile sneaks his way onto the specials (it tastes really good!). In summer the blinds are rolled up to let in the gentle scents of the forest and a the cool afternoon sea breeze that comes over the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge.

All of our cakes are homemade, some are gluten free. The warm chocolate brownie (GF) with ganache and berries and icecream is a must for chocolate lovers, and the carrot and almond cake (GF) topped with house lemon marmalade is becoming famous in it's own right!

Our baristas are trained and passionate about producing a great coffee every time, and there are other tasty chocolate treats on offer to enjoy in the forest, or for the pillow later on at night.

So come and check out the cafe and gallery when you are next looking at heading down our way. Perhaps you are heading to the caves and lighthouse, or just enjoying a day out of town - we'd love to see you!

We had some of the best goulash and mash in quite some time. Food was piping hot and super tasty. The staff are very friendly and serving sizes are generous. This was definitely one of the best local cafes we came across in our trip down south that was value for money, in gorgeous surroundings and delicious. We have told all our friends about this place.
