Welcome to Floating Euphoria, the Margaret River region's first flotation therapy centre. A place to drop into deep relaxation, let go of the world and connect with yourself.

This wellness centre, located in Gnarabup, offers the chance to experience the benefits of flotation therapy in sensory deprivation float pods.

Flotation therapy was created by neurophysicist Dr John C. Lilly over 60 years ago whilst doing research on brain waves and altered states of consciousness. The therapy involves lying in a specifically designed flotation tank that is filled with 1000 litres of water warmed to your skin temperature at depth of 25 centimetres. Dissolved in the water is 600 kgs of pharmaceutical-grade Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate).

The float tank or ‘float pod’ is designed to also eliminate all outside distractions such as sight, sound, tactile sensations, and of course, due to the extreme buoyancy of the water - gravity.

The best thing you can do for yourself if floating interests you even slightly, is to just try it. As you might imagine, being in a low-gravity, totally silent, and pitch-black flotation tank gives the body time to relax. While the healing benefits of relaxation have long been documented, the intense relaxation of flotation therapy is unique to the low-gravity environment that flotation tank provides. This environment leads to more profound relaxation and allows your body to recuperate faster and more thoroughly as well as giving the mind time to relax. This mental release is almost the opposite of stress and allows the brain to stop allocating its resources to processing the experience of all of our senses, producing profoundly positive mental effects and releasing a surge of positive neurochemicals.

Studies have shown the use of flotation therapy to be extremely beneficial for relaxation and mental health. Floating has also been shown to help with the reduction of stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, insomnia, addiction and back and neck ache's pains and general well being.

Floating Euphoria looks forward to seeing you soon.

Had my first float this morning. Really enjoyed the first 15mins with the music. After that, not as much as the room fan was on, which was distracting whilst trying to relax. Also the tank let some light in at the gap. For a few hours after my neck has been feeling stiff. If you go, ensure the fan is switched off. Overall still an interesting experience, but for me not quite the relax I was looking for. Louis Le Poidevin

Recently I had my first float in the amazing floats tank at Floating Euphoria. It was an amazing experience from the time I entered the complex to when I left. I loved the decor, the friendly service and most importantly the wonderful experience of floating. I felt my worries from the past and present come to the forefront and then leave my body. I felt totally relaxed and will recommend it to all my friends and family. Anne Keppel
