Nestled in native australian bushland. Goanna is quirky, unpretentious and relaxed. Goannas ever changing seasonal menu is designed to showcase the very best and freshest ingredients on offer in the region.
For Owner & Head Chef Duncan Timmons, creating fresh, interesting and honest dishes in a kitchen he could call his own had long been a dream. This dream was realised in 2008 when Duncan and his now wife Ali took the plunge to head down under from their native Scottish shores and swap city streets for a home and café set in stunningly beautiful Australian native bush, close to world class vineyards and golden sandy beaches.
Duncan’s passion for simple, fresh and understated food is expressed through his creative seasonal menu. He works closely alongside a long list of local producers and suppliers to ensure that every menu item showcases the freshest, best quality and locally sourced ingredients. Along with supporting local growers and producers in the cafe, Goanna Gallery proudly supports local artisans with their selection of hand picked, home grown, art and design from throughout the region and Australia wide.

Great breakfast. Generous serves. If I lived close I'd become a regular I reckon. Great coffee. Beautiful bush grounds. Some local and other Australian art work and products to peruse... what's not to like.
First visit to this wonderful cafe. Di and I had lunch out in the back area on a glorious early summer's day.Di had the burger which unfortunately came with the greens she'd asked to have removed. She liked it.I had the grilled prawns with lamb sausage on a unique salad. Looked nothing like I expected but was very tasty. The local Mongrel Creek shiraz was light and ideal for a summer meal.Superb ambience and very friendly staff ensured we'll be back.
A lovely Cafe indeed. With the nature surrounding this lovely warm cafe. Definitely felt Great & Nice to be here!
Had brunch here. It was nice with a cup of coffee. And the staff are friendly.
There are lots of seating areas available and a little corner displaying items that you could get for yourself or as a gifts.
Most of the seating is located outside so be sure to dress warm on cooler mornings. It has a small playground for little kids. I have pretty much tried all of the breakfasts here and they are all great- the bush breakfast is my favourite...but the Indonesian breakfast and smokey BBQ are also great. The kids breakfsat is also good (only 2 options - bacon and egg or pancakes and berries...my kids love both).
Most delicious pancakes ever!!! And also highly recommend the big breakfast! Super yummy and friendly staff! Would visit again if we ever the got the chance.
