A constantly evolving exploration of flavour. No boring beverages at this seriously small brewery.
The Sophisticated Beast is a small brewery that thinks big and doesn't dabble in the mundane, favouring styles that challenge your mind as much as your palate. They push back against the assumption that the fun has to be seasonal - they do fun all year round. What they do may be unconventional, that doesn’t mean unsophisticated. Always made with passion, in small batches, to be flavoursome, and unforgettable.

Ryan was so passionate about his brewing and even though his beers were not our usual style we actually really liked them. Especially the Dare ….it was such a pretty colour and tasted amazing. Really enjoyed listening to his stories of his wine making days and how it has influenced his brewing. Would def recommend a visit.

Very rare that I enjoy every single beer on a tasting paddle/ tap list but this has been one of them! Great little place starting out and can't wait to see SB go from strength to strength. Ryan also makes it a personal enjoyable human experience when you drop by. And his home-brewed coffee is also great if you have a driver!

We stumbled across Sophisticated Beast at the Margaret River markets. After sampling a couple of their beers we decided to visit the brewery. We were able to sample everything on offer in a very relaxed environment, especially as they have a corner set up for the kids. Most importantly they have some really interesting and delicious beers. Highly recommend stopping in at their brewery!

Excellent brewery. They are very experimental and their beers are much more interesting than the standard lager and IPA. The gluten free beer is delicious and complex- try it, even if you’re not gluten-intolerant. Highly recommend stopping if you’re in the area; you’ll get a much more personal experience and a refreshing change from the basic breweries you’ll see elsewhere.
