Whether it’s a casual café or fine dining restaurant, this is a part of the world where you will always find fresh, local produce that you can take-away and enjoy on the beach for a spectacular sunset, a picnic in the forest, or in the privacy of your own home.

The Sea Garden Café, Margaret River

This seaside café in Prevelly overlooks some of Margaret River’s best surfing spots and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is casual dining with a stunning view and a particularly delicious Nasi Goreng prepared by their Indonesian chef. The coffee is amazing too, using the Margaret River Roasting Company coffee beans for extra goodness to kickstart your morning.

Commonage Coffee, Yallingup

This is the place to be if you are after freshly roasted coffee to take away with you on your travels through the south west. This specialist roast producer offers ethically sourced single origin and blended coffee beans from Colombia, Ethiopia, Brazil, Peru, Costa Rica and Mexico.

Who can resist the Asian-inspired gourmet sushi, rice paper rolls, salads, soups, teriyaki stir-fries, or gyoza at this iconic Dunsborough café? The contemporary Asian cuisine is made from the freshest ingredients with original flavours that are both healthy and delicious. There are also gourmet meal packs that can be picked up on your way home from work.

Fishbone Wines, Margaret River

This boutique winery is renowned for its Japanese-inspired cuisine and its sushi-to-go. There is also a selection of seafood, chicken, vegetable, or vegan sushi platters that can be ordered a day in advance and will feed up to five people. The vegan Yasai and Inaki Maki rolls with Wakame Gunkan are a particular favourite.

This fast-food takeaway is a favourite with the locals, especially if you are after a burger, wrap, panini or homemade nori roll. The food is fresh and healthy, and the staff are pretty darn friendly too. They also make great coffees and smoothies.

This modern café is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers stunning views over the Augusta inlet and ocean. Specialising in fresh local seafood, including locally farmed Greenlip Abalone, there is an a la carte menu that can be enjoyed on the banks of the Blackwood River. Or simply stock up on cool drinks and ice creams.

Step back in time in this quintessentially charming fish and chip shop, that is an institution in this area, with many well-deserved awards for its simply satisfying seafood. Try the local dhu fish or whiting that’s cooked in a light and crispy batter and head to Flinders Bay, where you may be lucky to see the migrating whales.

Stop into this takeaway seafood joint for gourmet fish and chips, squid rings and salads. There is a great variety of fresh fish such as goldband snapper, pink snapper, barramundi and coral trout, which can be grilled, spiced, or cooked in a crispy batter in cold filtered rice bran oil.  Or try the salt and pepper baby squid. Add some chilli seasoning for a bit of spice.

This authentic French Patisserie offers a wonderful selection of bread and pastries produced in the traditional French method. You will find croissants, pain au raisin, apple turnover, strudel, pecan and twists. There are also traditional breads including baguettes, sourdough, pochon (traditional buckwheat sourdough) fig bread, and brioche.

This French café is open for breakfast and lunch, with a good selection of traditional bistro cuisine and sweet or savoury French crepes. The butter, sugar and lemon crepes are a must try. The gluten free crepes are made of buckwheat flour, or you can opt for some homemade French cuisine.
