Whirlwind Extra Virgin Olive Oil is grown in the rolling vales of Margaret River in Western Australia’s south-west.
The annual harvest is hand-picked and crushed on-site within 24 hours. The Farm Store tasting room provides you with the opportunity to taste the full range of Whirlwind products - Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Fused Olive Oil and cured olives.
When owners Imre and Sue Mencshelyi began planning a move from corporate/city living to get back to their roots back in 2002, little did they know the adventure that awaited them. There is so much activity taking place at the estate at any one time, so they named it “Whirlwind”.
Whirlwind Olives and Oil is a family-owned and run estate, using planet-friendly techniques to deliver superior, yet affordable products. Whirlwind produces a range of fused oils, using the italian agrumato method where the olive and fruit or herb are crushed together - Lemon, Orange, Basil, Rosemary, Garlic, Chilli and Chilli Burner.
Whirlwind Extra Virgin Olive Oil is available in bottle form or for bulk purchase - the varieties they grow are WA Mission, Paragon and they produce a blend of those two varieties called 60/40. Their cured olives are available in brine or marinated using their fused oils.
