Evening tours have just recommenced, bookings essential.

Sunset flight on a helicopter

There’s nothing quite like taking in the extraordinary beauty of the South West from the sky. Scenic Helicopters and KAS Helicopters are both well-respected operators in the region. They offer breath taking sunset flights, which take in the magnificent cape, coastline and national parks. Flight itineraries can be customised, or let your experienced pilot show you what the Margaret River Region has to offer.

Take off is before sunset, so you’re in the air for the magic.

Possum Spotlighting Trail in Tuart Forest

Nestled in Busselton’s Tuart Forest is a gentle walk through the trees, where possums, kangaroos and other native wildlife live their best marsupial lives. The walk itself is located off Layman Road about ten minutes north of Busselton, on a well-guided track with reflectors to help you find the way. Bring a torch to catch the possums at night, and a jumper and mozzie spray for when the sun goes down.

Summer evenings are the perfect time for possum spotlighting.

Busselton Jetty Sunset

Night Boat Dives at the Busselton Jetty

Explore the magnificent coral and teeming fish and marine life that surrounds the Busselton Jetty, with an evening dive. Dive straight off the jetty, which extends two kilometres out to sea, or for $95, jump on a purpose-built dive boat anchored at a top-notch reef spot. You will receive a dive brief before heading in, so you know what to check out and where to go. An Open Water Dive Certification is required for this adventure, operated by the crew at Swan Dive.

Happens every Saturday at 6.30pm, or on request if you have a group of six or more.

Nocturnal Animal Tour with South West Eco Discoveries

Say hello to native bush critters who love the dark – like the woylie, a super cute nocturnal animal affectionately known as the ‘kung fu roo’. This two-hour family-friendly adventure happens in a private conservation sanctuary, in Yelverton Brook bushland where woylies and other wildlife like to play. You’ll take a short journey through the bush to a viewing site, where you can spot woylies under the stars, while enjoying billy bush tea (or milo) and biscuits.

Pickup and drop off from accommodation spots in and around Busselton, Dunsborough and Cowaramup Town Centre included.

Wine into the Night Tour

Celebrate all there is to love about wine Down South with a wine tour that starts in the afternoon, and rolls into the night. You’ll be picked up from your accommodation and taken to some of the most-loved wineries in the region, tasting award-winning wines and stopping for a light evening meal at either Swings Taphouse in Margaret River, Caves House in Yallingup or Lamont’s in Smiths Beach.

Margaret River Printmaking Workshops

Evening printmaking

Learn the art of printmaking under the expert guidance of Francesco Geronazzo – an award-winning printmaker who traded life as a printmaking lecturer in Bologna, Italy, for Margaret River. You’ll get to explore your creativity, using traditional and experimental printmaking methods, all in a beautiful art studio just three minutes from the town of Margaret River (by car). These evenings are a whole lot of fun and regularly garner five-star Google reviews.

Printmaking classes start at $45, book online.

Catch a show at Margaret River Heart

There are plenty of incredible shows to check out at the Margaret River Heart, a relatively new venue known for hosting some of the best festivals, live music and comedy acts. Like Love Burns, a dark and funny chamber opera that hits the stage in November. There’s also a big screen, where you can check out new release flicks in the comfort of a state-of-the-art cinema, while enjoying delicious snacks from the confectionary bar.

Check out their website for current screenings and upcoming events.

Dance the night away

Down South is well-known for attracting some of the most legendary touring acts around, not to mention talent homegrown in the region. Friday night is a great time to check out a band at Settlers Tavern in Margaret River, or walk on over to The River Hotel, where you can dance the night away in their epic outdoor beer garden. Clancy’s Fish Pub in Dunsborough is also a great spot to catch a band, and they know how to put on a rollicking good time.

Head to the venue websites for more on what’s on.
