As Western Australia’s holiday capital, Your Margaret River Region has a huge range of kid friendly things to do. But if you’re not a kid, don’t let it stop you; most establishments will let the adults have a go too!
From Busselton to Dunsborough, Margaret River to Augusta, there is no end to the fun things you can do. Get active with archery, fun parks, horse riding, a trip to a maze, climbing, a Segway tour or fishing hire or bike hire. Or learn something new at a silk farm or Aboriginal cultural centre, even learn to fish! For treats made in the region, visit a chocolate or fudge factory, lolly shop or ice cream parlour.
There are plenty of family friendly wineries and restaurants complete great kid’s menus and well-placed playgrounds.

Family-Friendly Holiday Parks
Designed especially with kids in mind, these properties have facilities to enable the ultimate family fun time and little features to make your holiday easier.
There are properties that have facilities like play zones, enormous jumping pillows, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, giant water slides, playgrounds and more. Other properties have the simple things like beach cricket, flying foxes and bike hire.
Choose from apartments, villas, chalets, cottages, powered camping sites and ensuite sites.
Many of these places are located on the beachfront, complete with calm shallow lapping water great for kids to paddle, swim, play and even fish. Or, if the kids want to don the gumboots and feed something furry then check out the farmstays.
If you want to have some fun, and we mean lots of fun, no matter what your age, pack your breadcrumbs and visit one of the mazes!
Intricate on a broad scale, these mazes will have you meandering through with all the confidence of the world and then in an instant, perplex you with that little unexpected twist!
The region is home to three mazes, each a labyrinth of confusion and deception that will challenge even the best navigator’s sense of direction.
Fun for all ages, each maze is constructed differently. There is A Maze’n Margaret River, built with stately, almost imposing uniform conifers that offer you no clue. Or Boranup Forest Maze, situated on a pioneer town site and made with remnant exotic shrubs and native shrubs where you’ll be asking yourself ‘have I seen that plant before?’ Or timber-made Yallingup Maze, where you can’t be sure as to whether you are confused or ‘did someone move that wall?’ Or visit all three!
Don’t let the fun stop there. You’ll also be able to enjoy picnic areas, cafés, free puzzles and games for all ages, great food and coffee. Yallingup Maze even has a licensed bar.

Pleasantly experience the region upon a gentle, well-cared for horse. Enjoy rides through working cattle farms, the Australian bush and alongside wineries. The tour leaders are experienced and will guide you to ensure that you are aboard a great horse or pony suitable to your ability so as you can thoroughly enjoy the experience with confidence.
Each company prides itself on being flexible and being able to cater for the total beginner to the experienced rider. A number of places also cater for children with pony rides and lead-rein options.
Non-riders are also well catered for in the region with a choice of a horse wagon tour, opportunity to watch a horse training session or exhibition or undertake non-horse activities including relaxing by the fire with a book or a playground for the kids.
