Wine voices: Josephine Perry, Winemaker (Riedel Young Gun of Wine 2016)

“My grandfather was a brewer at Swan Brewery and I had go over and help him clean his house every Wednesday afternoon after school. I’d ride my bike over and we used to brew all sorts of stuff in his shed.

Then I had to do work experience.  He made me write down a list of everything I wanted to do in my life. I love gardening, I love travelling, I love the arts and I wanted to be outdoors. He made me write this all down.

The next Wednesday I came back and he said, that’s it, you’re booked, you’re going to Cape Mentelle to do vintage and I haven’t done anything else, so pretty much, that was it.”
