Wander along the Ancient Lands Experience pathway through native bushland to the entrance of the majestic Ngilgi Cave, where you can explore at your own pace.

A breathtaking journey through time begins above ground along the Ancient Lands Experience, a pathway that winds through native bushland, where a series of interactive installations brings the creation of this remarkable place to life. As you wander the Ancient Lands Experience, you’ll learn about:

  • Cultural connections to the land
  • The local flora and fauna, and
  • The formation of the pristine caves beneath the Leeuwin-Naturaliste limestone ridge.

The path leads you to the entrance of Ngilgi Cave, where you can descend and explore its majestic stalactites, stalagmites, helictites, and beautifully coloured shawls at your own pace.

Guides are positioned throughout the experience and are on hand to assist you and share their knowledge.

The entire above and below-ground experience takes around 1.5 hours. If you opt for above-ground exploration only, allow around 30 minutes. There is also a nature-based play area for children at the final stop.

Fantastic first visit to Ngilgil Cave. We had visitors from interstate and overseas, and we live in WA. Buying tickets on the website was quick and easy. On arrival we checked in and were given information. Gift shop is great and toilets are located there. Headed down into the cave. Again at the entrance there is a guide who gives some tips and suggestions. The caves are stunningly beautiful. There are lots of steps but they are easy to navigate, we just took our time as you are not rushed. The way is clearly marked and there are different spots with photos and information. At the heart of the cave was another guide with more information. The climb out was easy, again take your time. Plenty of places to stop and rest if needed. The boardwalks from the cave back to the gift shop have activities and information. Overall a really great experience! Highly recommended.
