Witness spectacular seascape views across the Indian Ocean and up and down the remote coastline at Canal Rocks. Thousands of years of the Indian Ocean surging and crashing against this section of granite coastline has chiselled out a narrow channel between the granite rocks. A narrow timber walkway allows for easy access and great views of the rushing ocean beneath. It is always impressive no matter what the weather, but extra breathtaking when the big storms and swells roll in.
The timber pathway meanders around and across the rocks, taking in grand seascapes with swirling water to little pools and lagoons where you can look for marine creatures like cheeky crabs to brightly coloured starfish. For something more challenging there are areas to climb over rocks, or take an energetic stroll to the lookout about 500m from the road. For the more adventurous, snorkelling and fishing are popular activities in the sheltered areas but be sure to heed the directional and warning signs. A finger jetty and boat ramp add to the facilities offered. Canal Rocks is on the Cape to Cape Track and is a popular stop for walkers with the freshwater spring located 100m below the track, north of the carpark. Canal Rocks also offers a two-kilometre scenic walk to Wyadup Cliffs.

The shore line is stunning, crashing waves, clear water, and amazing rock formations . Fairly busy, but enough space for everyone. Have to scramble over rocks to get some views or great photo shoots but I kept to the path, safer that way.

was one of the most dramatic coastal stops of the trip. The wooden bridge gives a great view of powerful waves rushing through narrow rock channels, and the whole area feels raw and untouched. Easy to access, quick to explore, and absolutely worth stopping for if you’re driving around the Margaret River region.

Canal Rocks is a coastal experience which opens the eyes to Mother Nature. The Indian Ocean here has so many hues ranging from almost white through to torquoise and onto a beautiful marine navy blue. We were lucky as the sky was blue, the breeze gentle and the sand was a powdery white. The car park was ample for the people there and an over water path was made to get visitors further out to sea and be among the craggy rocks. There were toilets provided but I never saw a Kebab stall, which was good.

Beautiful spot to visit. Plenty of parking and there were toilets close by. We walked along the sturdy foot bridge that opened up to a scenic natural water pool with waves crashing over. Water was crystal clear. Short walk to the small beach on the other side of the boat ramp was a nice beach for swimming and snorkeling. Lots of fish to see.
