Sunday Sundowner Session
Description
The Arts Margaret River Sundowners are an annual series of free family concerts that are well loved and well attended.
The Sundowners support local musicians and enable Arts Margaret River to give back to our community, and for the community to be exposed to differing music styles. Importantly, it enables low income families within the district the opportunity to attend a concert as a family group. Friends and family, some comprising four generations, gather with their picnic on the lawn and delight in the location, ambience and music.
“I think I enjoy these concerts even more than going to the big Leeuwin Concerts. The Sundowners really are for the community to enjoy.” – A local resident.
Natural Wings and co will transform the Sound Shell grassed area outside Margaret River HEART – Nala Bardip Mia into a 2.5-hour, pop-up festival of circus, music, and interaction.
The evening opens with lively music and Miss Red’s Circus Club. Accomplished street performer, musician, and circus artist Miss Red shares a range of circus skills with humour and flair, inviting all ages to join in, with plenty of laughter and inclusivity.
As the sun sets, Natural Wings’ Dawn Pascoe takes to the air with a show of aerial finesse, storytelling, and comedy that’s relatable, accessible, and fun for all ages. By then, the kids have burned off their energy and are ready to settle in.
As the stars appear, Tanya Ransom and Tilly Kay close the night with their beautiful harmonies and original songs—the kind of music that makes you pause and realise you’re witnessing something special.
Having recently toured this program to remote stations in the Gascoyne, the team is ready to bring the magic home.
