Arc of Iris

Restaurants & Cafes

Overview

Big News! We are having a huge makeover and an extension! We are taking over the restaurant next door (it used to be Katchup) and are extending into a lounge bar, bistro and restaurant. The old Katchup premise will become a dedicated restaurant and what is currently Arc of iris will e turned into a bar with comfortable lounge style seating, a modern bar and bistro style food.

So, in one venue you can choose your menu and style of eating.

Outside will become one big open terrace. Covered and sheltered as needed but wide open and fresh in summer.

We have a bar license so can serve drinks without food and our happy hour is from 4pm where our spirits and house wine are $5 plus we have small plates for $15.
At that time we also have a 200g porterhouse steak for $25.

On our winter menu we have a selection of main meals for $30.

Ask anyone where to go for great food in Margaret River and hopefully they will say Arc of iris. As Margaret Rivers oldest restaurant we have been loved by both locals and visitors for the last 26 years (and that says a lot)
As a character restaurant, our decor is quirky and eclectic, reflecting our early days. Our focus is on excellent food.
"The Arc" as it is affectionately known by many, always has and always will be about the food. The focus is local and free range. We are known for our superb cuts of meat, featuring some unusual dishes like free range venison and duck. We are quite famous for that duck with people travelling a long way to sample it . We also have succulent seafood, vegetarian and vegan options. Our wonderful Italian chef has created some tasty pasta dishes whilst our German chef adds European flair and Pork Belly to die for! ( nearly as popular as the duck!) We are fully licensed and our wine list is compiled from local wineries in full support of this wonderful food and wine region. Even out of season, we are usually busy and bookings are highly recommended,

Went there with my wife and her mum and dad from overseasThe food was good, the waitress attending the table friendly and welcoming to the overseas visitorsWe ordered Marron, 600 g Ribs and 300 g Porterhouse (well done), garlic bread starter and Cassati Ice Cream. The ice cream was the best of the lot. This would be a 5 star review, but the steak was a but dry

I was rather skeptical as I walked into this rather old and tacky decor restaurant. However, I was wrong. Never judge a book by its cover. Never judge a restaurant by its decor. Amazing pork belly which was cooked by 7.5hrs. Crispy skin with tender meat. Just how a perfect piece of pork belly should be made. We also ordered the 800g of ribeye. Meat was tender. Home made bone marrow butter was a bomb! Would love to be back but unfortunately was a short stay for us. And not to worry about their decor. They will be going for a renovation in Sept!

Excellent service, nice food. We had the huge rib eye. Was cooked well and the chips were tasty. Definitely to be shared between two. Or more. I know that the kitsch and random furniture was meant to be on purpose but it didnt really enhance the cosy atmosphere. This kind of decor needs to be paired with eclectic art or decorations or something. However to be fair they are on the brink of a renovation so their efforts are probably placed there.
