"Cape Mentelle wines reflect the sense of place of Margaret River in their freshness, fruit purity and vibrancy of character." - Ben Cane, Winemaker.

Cape Mentelle, established in 1970, is one of the founding wineries of Margaret River.  While pioneering many of the region's renowned wine styles, Cape Mentelle also consistently serves as a benchmark for the quality of Margaret River wines. Accolades including consecutive wines of Australia's most prestigious wine trophy, the Jimmy Watson, with the iconic Cabernet Sauvignon in 1983 and 1984, helped put Margaret River on the international wine map.  Today, Cape Mentelle's tradition of pioneering spirit and uncompromising commitment to excellence is being upheld by their talented and innovative young team.

As a guest at Cape Mentelle, you can be assured that they take their environmental responsibilities seriously. The 120 hectares of estate vineyards are managed with a sustainable viticulture philosophy, meaning as close to organic as possible. This philosophy extends through the winery and waste management practices.

2nd time visiting this place after developing a liking for a couple of their wines. Our host was a young lady from Chile , I didn't catch her name but she was a very well mannered and welcoming host. Excellent wines and service 👌 Andrew Haig
Came for a wine tasting that we booked very late online but we were catered for regardless. The selection of wines was broad and we enjoyed the tasting very much. Nick was extremely polite and helpful and made us feel so comfortable and welcomed! Had a great experience :) Michael Anderson

A wonderful cellar door experience. While we were not blown away by this vintage of wines the experience was lifted by friendly and knowledgeable staff. We left happily with some of the two vineyard Shiraz as a souvenir. Looking forward to returning. Jeremy B
