For over 50,000 years, the Wadandi of the Busselton, Dunsborough and Margaret River areas of Australia’s south-west have walked this ancient land. Koomal Dreaming is your opportunity to follow in their footsteps and experience Wadandi country through their eyes. Wadandi custodian Josh “Koomal” Whiteland will introduce you to the world’s oldest living culture with his authentic, personal interpretation. Be moved by the skill and intensity of Josh’s didgeridoo playing & fire-making, taste native foods, discover bush medicine and meet the animals, plants and Dreaming spirits that have enriched the lives of Wadandi people since time began.

Koomal Dreaming allows visitors to experience Wadandi and Bibbulman country through the eyes of the traditional owners.

From his home base of Dunsborough, Josh allows guests to taste native foods, discover bush medicine, and experience traditional fire lighting. Josh recounts stories of the Dreaming spirits related to his traditional area and takes visitors deep into Ngilgi Cave for a uniquely memorable didgeridoo cave experience.

Private cultural tours along with Aboriginal food foraging and tastings are available on request at Ngilgi Cave as well as the stunning Cape Naturaliste location in the Margaret River region.

Providing a deep connection and lasting memories, Josh will also provide a deeper appreciation of the beautiful and inspiring Cape to Cape region.

I went to the Twlight Didgeridoo Cave Tour at the Ngilgi Cave in Yalingup W.A., and I would highly recommend it to anyone that would like to learn more about our Aboriginal history, culture and their traditional ways of life in this region. This tour was so much more than just going into a cave to hear a didgeridoo. You will definitely come away with a whole new appreciation and understanding of our Aboriginal people and how the six seasons make so much sense. The Peppermint tree has just become my new favourite! Josh from Koomal Dreaming was a very informative and engaging guide throughout this tour. He shared knowledge and stories as we made our way through the winding trail to the cave, and this continued when we were inside as well. The acoustics in the cave were amazing for the Didgeridoo, and a unique experience - this cave is very special. We were also invited to explore deeper into the cave if we wanted to. There are quite a lot of steps (with handrails) for those wanting to do this part, and it does get quite humid down there - so would suggest a medium level of fitness to get around tricky areas, sturdy shoes as ground can get uneven, light clothing and bring your sense of adventure. If you can't manage steps to go into the cave section (which is only a part of the experience), you can still have an enjoyable time whilst staying above ground. The area around the cave has been well designed and has all sorts of exhibits, wildlife and plants to capture your interest while waiting for the group to come back up to continue the experience.

Great experience design with the seasons wheel and the topo map. Josh has a lot of great plant knowledge and the cultural share area murals are very cool Definitely plan your trip ahead so you can do the Koomal dreaming and the cave at the same time

We really enjoyed Josh's tour. It was incredibly informative and interesting. The caves were impressive and fairly easy to navigate. Quite a lot of steps, but there was no pressure to do more than you wanted to do. The didgeridoo sound was incredible and fabulous to hear in the cave setting. Would highly recommend this tour.

The twilight tour was simply amazing. A really lovely balance of information about culture, history and country. Listening to the didjeridoo in the amphitheater in the cave was amazing. Then we had time to explore the in a very small group. One of the absolute highlights of our time in WA so far.
