Hippo Lakes was born out of a dream, 28 years ago to provide a space for families and their friends to get together, interact or share, whatever the occasion. Situated on 30 acres of land and lake, is a family-owned cafe, farm shop and events venue overlooking magnificent gardens.
Indulge in a delightful experience in the charming cafe and farm shop, complete with a welcoming verandah, cozy indoor seating and picturesque picnic spots. With seasonal menus and regularly changing specials, you can enjoy a delicious breakfast, morning tea, lunch, high tea or picnic complemented by a local produced beverages at Hippo Lakes.
The Farm Shop is home to the well-known and loved "The Fat Hippo" range of chutneys and South African delicacies, all made here in the South West alongside other taste local gourmet produce, unique gift ideas and fresh, farm-picked flowers.
