Broken Sea Duo | Settlers Tavern

Gav and Ni from Broken Sea are an acoustic duo from Cowaramup, Western Australia, featuring Gavin (guitar, vocals) and Nina (lead vocals, piano/synth, stomp box).

Partners since 2007, they’ve performed across the South West WA music scene under various band names over the years before settling on Broken Sea and releasing their debut album State of Confusion in 2015 — a warmly received record that saw five of six tracks played on international FM radio.

Their second album, Grassfed, arrived in 2026, showcasing their evolving songwriting and raw sound. On stage they deliver a dynamic, stripped-back accoustic based set of originals and high-energy covers, blending rock and contemporary pop influences.

Typical arrangements place Gavin on guitar and vocals and Nina on lead vocal duties with piano/synth and rhythm from her stomp box. Set highlights and influences include Creedence Clearwater Revival, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Fleetwood Mac, Ray Charles, Calvin Harris, Eminem, Bob Marley, Dolly Parton, Neil Young, Foo Fighters, Tool and many more.
