Galleries and Artisans

Delve into the thriving art scene of Your Margaret River Region. The amazing landscape, vibrant community and access to unique materials all help to inspire the internationally and nationally acclaimed photographers, jewellers, painters, potters, glass blowers, furniture makers, wood working and metal working artists.

Spend your time meandering along country roads throughout the region – from Busselton, Dunsborough and Yallingup to Margaret River and Augusta, and everywhere in between, and you’ll find solitary art studios, galleries, furniture galleries, impromptu arts precincts and collaborative workshops. Many have impressive settings surrounded by remote forest and bushland or are embedded at wineries and resorts.

Take a walk along the main streets to find studios and galleries that will tempt you to take a piece of fine furniture, jewellery, pottery or framed artwork home.

Many of the artists can be seen at work in their studios and if this fires up your own creativity, there are a number of places who provide all the materials (and some guidance) so you can have a go yourself.

The ‘performing arts’ is no stranger to the region’s vibrant art scene either. To time your visit with a festival, check out the arts and culture event calendar.

Our Top 5 Arts Experiences

  1. Immerse yourself in art and bushland at the art precinct along Yallingup’s Marrinup and Gunyulgup drives in Yallingup.
  2. Take in the vibrant café and gallery scene in the bustling Margaret River town.
  3. Make your own art and wine appreciation tour by visiting the wineries with art exhibitions, many of which change throughout the year.
  4. Be amazed by the awesome landscape photography on display, then head to some of the scenic spots to try out your skills with your own camera. Beaches, forests and wineries all provide photographers with many incredible opportunities, especially in that magic later afternoon light.
  5. Choose a fine piece of furniture, pottery or framed artwork for a not so ‘run of the mill’ souvenir.
