Description
Art lovers mark your diaries for Margaret River Region Open Studios – two incredible weeks of immersive and interactive personal art experiences, the biggest event of its kind in the southern hemisphere!
The much loved event provides a rare opportunity for visitors to meet, chat, be inspired and even purchase artworks direct from the artists. In 2022, a record 168 artists opened their usually private world of paint, canvas, kilns, fabric, fire, timber, charcoal, chainsaws, pencils, found objects, welding tools, looms, printing presses, clay, metal and millinery. The event was also recognised at the WA tourism Awards winning GOLD in the Festival & Events category.
You can create your own artistic road, following a trail of your favourite artists or art styles, discover new talent and even enjoy workshops or the annual Art Dinner and Auction .
Springtime is the perfect time to visit the Margaret River Region and experience something new, road tripping the quiet back roads to discover studios in family homes, old timber mill cottages, hobby and dairy farms, straw bale homes, a converted water tank, cottages, hay sheds, converted school bus, brewery, beach shack, industrial sheds, sea containers, shearing sheds, bush blocks, a ‘Sheila shack’ and more. There’s a depth of artistic talent here that would be hard to match anywhere else in the world.
Save the date for the 2023, and start planning your trip now!
