Prevelly Chapel Commemorative Service

Prevelly’s iconic chapel on the hill is holding a special memorial service to celebrate its legacy.

The story of Prevelly and its whitewashed Greek chapel  – officially known as  Saint John The Theologian Chapel – is linked to World War II and the Prevelli Monastary in Crete. The service shall describe the heroic role the Cretan people played in rescuing Allied soldiers on 28th of July 1941 from the Battle of Crete, including the Chapel’s Founder, the late Geoffrey Edwards.
