Description

Riverbugs is a home-grown Margaret River Jazz Quartet.

The band formed in 2017 when Jazz singer Janine Andrews, who landed in Margaret River all the way from the Paris Jazz scene, came across local legend Scott Wise at the Farmer’s Market. They started off playing tunes from the Louis & Ella repertoire but soon realised they needed a bass player. Swinging jazz veteran Viv Booker was called up on double bass and after a few rehearsals, the Riverbugs were born. About a year passed and it was time to call for the doctor; Dr Louise Marsh is the jazziest doc in town ripping it up on her tenor saxophone bringing the threesome to an awesome foursome.

The four players bring influences from years of experiences in various genres but concentrate their efforts on jazz, blues, soul and of course swing.

“Riverbugs is about music for the people, to make people feel good, click their fingers, tap their feet, smile and enjoy themselves as much as we love playing these timeless tunes”.

See you at Settlers Tavern.
