It is recommended that prior bookings are made to ensure a pen vacancy is available.

This new world-class, landmark facility provides recreational and commercial boaties with appropriate infrastructure to service the region’s tourism and commercial fleet – with the 2.8 hectares of sheltered water and 5 hectares of land for service facilities including:
• a four-lane boat launching facility with floating finger jetties
• a 50m land-backed service wharf
• forty boat pens for commercial and recreational vessels
• navigation aids
• car-and-trailer parking for 160 vehicles

About 28 of the available 40 pens have been allocated on an annual hiring basis. There are currently several pens available for casual hiring by visiting vessels. The Department of Transport currently has a state-wide overnight berthing charge for recreational vessels of $50 (GST included) per vessel. Different rates apply for longer term stays and charges by pen length. Pen holders have their own toilet and shower facilities but no laundromat. Enquiries regarding berthing applications and associated fees and charges at the harbour by visiting vessels can be directed to the Department of Transport’s (DoT) Bunbury regional office on 08 9792 6607.

The Augusta Boat Harbour also serves as a regional base for sea search and rescue operations, supported by the Augusta airstrip. Always check local weather and boating conditions in Flinders Bay and Augusta before venturing out to sea. Head to the website for most up to date information.
