Are you looking for a great casual dining experience while in Margaret River?
Margaret River is such a great place - there is so much for the senses. Beautiful trees, amazing beaches, tracks to explore, the river to wander along, wineries and art galleries. Out of this area also comes outstanding locally grown and produced food and drink. This is what Drift Café aims to bring to you. Every dish, every element, that comes from the Drift kitchen is made onsite using local produce.

Start your day with one of their popular breakfasts, gather with friends over a lazy lunch or call in for great coffee. Drift Café, set in the converted Old Shire Library near the centre of town, is cosy and friendly, offering food that echoes the excellence of the region - they like to refer to it as ‘relaxed excellence’.

Owners Colin & Gaye McQueen consider themselves extremely fortunate to be able to combine their enjoyment of café dining and meeting people with being able to live in this part of the world. The style and feel of the café is very much a reflection of the owners, somewhere that they'd like to go themselves.

They also have a great team on board with an executive head chef who takes café food to the next level.  Baristas are trained at the WA Barista Academy to bring out the best of the Five Senses coffee beans with fresh grinds every time.

Come along and enjoy it for yourself!

We went there for brunch. It was a popular place. We were not able to get a table indoors so instead we were seated on the veranda outdoors. (This proved a bit too cold at first but then we figured out how to drop the full length “zip-able” wind screens which made all the difference.) We had the Mushroom Medley with Halloumi, the Potato Hash, and Flat White Coffees with Oat Milk. Both vegetarian dishes were excellent, so tasty. Excellent service. Nice ambiance inside if you can get seated inside. Average or medium pricing.

My partner and I had breakfast on New Year’s Day. It was great that they were open. The only drawback was it was very busy and the 4 star for service is more about the setup than the staff themselves. As you had to go inside to order at the counter it was a bit unorganized with people trying to find seats, get menus, order, wait for takeaway, and not really any way for the staff to control the flow of people better with the setup. This is probably only an issue on crazy busy days like NYD. The food was great. I had the Mexican bowl and my partner had granola. The coffee and juice were good too. Reasonable portions and pricing and they were confident about allergens on their menu.

Delicious breakfast in the heart of Margaret River town! Taking a recommendation from locals, we visited Drift Cafe for an early Sunday morning breakfast. The menu had a fabulous range, with all 4 of us ordering different dishes, that were all delicious. A special mention for housemade hollandaise! Highly recommend for breakfast when in Margeret River.

Best coffee in the area. Had flat whites and breakfast. Food was sensational and we’re going back again on our final day in the area. My husband loved the potato hash dish.
