Multi international award winning wines.
Fermoy’s wines developed such a reputation for its amazing quality that in 2004 Fermoy Estate Cabernet Sauvignon was the only Western Australian wine served during the Official reception for the royal wedding of Crown Prince Fredrick of Denmark and Mary Donaldson. This winery continuously proves itself as one of the finest producers in the Margaret River Wine Region.
More information Fermoy Estate is an Australian winery at Wilyabrup, in the Margaret River wine region of Western Australia. Established by John and Beryl Anderson in 1985, it was named in honour of one of John Anderson's ancestors, a Scottish-born businessman who acquired part of Fermoy estate, just north of Cork, Ireland, and set up several industries there.
Fermoy Estate has recently changed hands and is back to being a locally owned vineyard. New owner Aaron Young believes Fermoy Estate is a rare combination of youth and experience – the 25 year old vineyard has a long established track record for consistently producing premium quality wines, combined with a new youthful and dynamic ownership and management team, injecting a new level of enthusiasm and passion into the business.
Fermoy Estate, comprising 14 hectares of planted vines, was established in 1985, and completed its first vintage in 1988. Since this time, Fermoy has built a strong reputation for premium quality wines and has won both domestic and international acclaim and awards, with its Cabernet Sauvignon one of only 5 Australian wines served at the 2004 wedding of Princess Mary to Denmark’s Prince Frederick and its 2008 Reserve Semillon winning a gold medal at the prestigious, London International Wine Challenge.
Fermoy continues to focus on its core premium varieties of Semillon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc in the whites and Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz in the reds, with its two very popular blends of SSB and Cabernet Merlot,
With senior winemaker Jeremy Hodgson, Fermoy is poised for future growth and success as one of Margaret River’s finest producer of premium wines.
Cameron Rhodes said. “We believe Jeremy has the experience, passion, enthusiasm and ambition to succeed, that will see Fermoy even further establish itself as one of Margaret River’s highest regarded wineries.”
