Miki's Open Kitchen in Margaret River features an open kitchen where guests can watch Miki and his team prepare authentic Japanese dishes.
The dishes served won’t be found in Japan. Instead, on the plate you will meet with ingredients that Miki relies on: from the farmer’s hands that work the fertile soil borne
by the salt cloaked breeze and natural minerals. Combined with a rich array of local produce
and technique of using shallow copper pots. Our dynamic vibe is reflected in the tailor-made degustation. An eclectically curated range of Japanese sake and local wines completes the culinary experience.
Would rate in my top 3 places to dine at! Highly highly recommend, the food was exceptional and far exceeded my expectations. I cannot explain how well the food is prepared, the combined flavours were exceptional and the service was wonderful. I will be back, many times over. Thank you for providing one of the best meals and experience I’ve ever had 🙏🏻
7 course with matching wine... Amazing! Great staff, they really know their products and wine offering. Food was to notch, you will need to book well in advance and for good reason
We loved our dinner here so much, I wish it were possible to give multiple 5 star reviews. From the friendly, knowledgeable and attentive wait staff to the incredibly delicious food, I am so glad I stumbled upon Miki's Open Kitchen on an article about must visit places in Margaret River.
Every aspect of our 7 courses appeared to be carefully thought out. It was all so delicious but I particularly loved the scallop, asparagus and chicken rillette. And as someone who generally prefers savoury courses (& isn't a fan of rice pudding) I thought the dessert was fantastic.
We really appreciated having the menu emailed to us in advance. I love to study a menu before visiting a restaurant but I really love that Miki does it to limit the printing of menus. I'm all about sustainability and think it's a great idea!
My husband loved the sake pairing. I really enjoyed the George the Fox cider as well.
Since visiting, we have told everyone that they must go if ever in Margaret River. We are hopeful we can go again and get a seat around the kitchen, as I think that would add even more to the experience.
I was too full from a big day touring about to truly appreciate this as much as I normally would, however every morsel was beautiful and an absolute delight in terms of flavour profile.
Marked down to a 4 due to the overwhelming seriousness of the kitchen staff which dampened the experience for us a fraction.
Will definitely return, but perhaps just with 1 other person rather than a group of 4.
What a great experience. The complete menu was divine paired with local wine. We wanted to steal some of those sauces, so delicious!!
