Had a nice weekend stay here, service was very friendly and location is just outside the town which is nice and quiet, right near the beach. The rooms are dated and there were hairs in the bath and dust on the skirtings, but the linen was clean and overall it was adequate. The resort is great too with 3 swimming pools, a lake, tennis courts and direct access to the beach.

Can't fault the location of this place. When you can walk out the back gate and be right on the beach that's a massive positive. The rooms are clean but you can see that the hotel is looking a little tired but don't let that reflect on your stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

During our recent stay at Abbey Beach Resort, we experienced a mix of positives and negatives that contributed to an overall three-star rating for our visit. Upon arrival, we found the location to be quite favorable, with the resort situated right on the beach, offering easy access to the sands and serene views. Another highlight was the indoor pool that closed at 9pm, which proved convenient for entertaining the younger members of our party. Unfortunately, the accommodations themselves left room for improvement. In our one-bedroom apartment, we found the bed to be too soft for our liking, and the pillow provided was uncomfortable. Additionally, the furniture felt flimsy – our outdoor chairs were plastic and needed to be replaced during our stay. While the resort staff was responsive in providing a replacement when asked, the incident did detract from the overall quality of our experience. The two-bedroom apartment had slightly more updated decor, but even there, signs of aging were apparent. Our air conditioning unit was notably old and emitted noise throughout the night, which was a disturbance to our rest. Cleanliness was a significant concern for us. We returned to our apartment on more than one occasion to find that the linen had not been changed, only made to appear so, and the floors had not been cleaned. It was necessary for us to request additional cleaning services to address these issues. We were particularly disappointed with the communication regarding the squash court. Our inquiries were passed between reception and the cafe, and we never received a clear answer or the equipment we needed to use the facility. This led us to purchase our own ball and bat to enjoy the game elsewhere. Moreover, the sauna was out of service for the entirety of our six-night stay, which was especially disheartening given the timing around the Christmas holidays – a peak period where one would expect all amenities to be in working order. The quality of the kitchen utensils provided in our apartment was substandard, to the point where we regretted not bringing our own, particularly a proper kitchen knife for meal preparation. While the BBQ facilities were good, the lack of shaded outdoor seating proved to be an inconvenience. The resort only offered a few tables with umbrellas, insufficient for the number of guests and the large groups that typically stay here. Lastly, the soundproofing in our one-bedroom apartment was inadequate, as we could easily hear doors slamming and people talking on a daily basis. Given the pricing range of around $400 to $500 per night, our expectations were not fully met. With other resorts nearby offering updated facilities, we are inclined to explore those options on our next trip to the area. In conclusion, Abbey Beach Resort boasts a great location with some enjoyable amenities like the indoor pool, but the dated decor, cleanliness issues, and lack of attention to guest comfort detracted from what could have been a much more pleasant stay. We hope that the resort can address these issues for future guests

Had a great time here! The rooms were clean, spacious and had a lovely balcony. The indoor pool was a total winner, outdoor pools were closed - probably open during summer. Also they've got plenty of parking space. The staff were Just lovely. And the hotel has beach access. Will definitely come back again.
