Ruse Estate chalets offer guests a truly spectacular, unique place to unwind. Situated amongst rolling vineyard-covered hills, your beautifully appointed chalet unlocks access to our vineyard, bushland, rolling parklands, lake, dam and creekline. Their favourite pastime is exploring the 80-acre property by foot, animal and plant spotting, or kayaking on their lake. Whether you sit on your own deck soaking up the atmosphere or enjoy a drink in the carriage overlooking the dam, jetty and amphitheatre, there's no shortage of scenic places to sit and take in the beautiful scenery, and the serenity. What are you waiting for?
Only a 3 hour drive south of Perth, Ruse Estate lies in the heart of the spectacular Margaret River wine country, referred to by locals as ‘Down South’. Positioned 10 minutes out of the Margaret River township, Ruse Estate is surrounded by rolling hills of vineyards, where you could easily imagine you are in the wine growing regions of Italy or France.

A stay with them provides the perfect base for exploring the region’s famous wineries, galleries and beaches. This region offers something for everyone. You can surf and swim at fabulous beaches, go caving, bushwalking, paddling, hike the ‘Cape to Cape, cycle along the regular biking trails or explore the mountain bike trails. There’s a new quad bike adventure tour that looks fabulous. Food, beer and wine lovers be warned- there is so much on offer down here that you are at risk of going home with tight trousers. We highly recommend that you book in early to any restaurants or wineries that you are interested in, as they do get booked out.

Ruse Estate Retreat is located on a stunning 80 acre property that features it’s own vineyard. The property is simply idyllic and it’s the perfect place to stay when you want to get away for some quiet time. The property features everything from rolling parklands with a train carriage on a beautiful dam setting with a jetty, through to a beautiful ‘lake’ on the Chapman Brook. There is natural bushland, 16 acres of grapes and going for a stroll around the property is a favourite past time, and it will be yours as well when you stay with them.

They have 3 solar passive modern chalets that have been positioned to maximise the picturesque views of the property. The chalets are positioned well away from each other to ensure privacy is enjoyed by all guests. They are set up with fully functioning kitchens and have been furnished with an understated elegance that blends in beautifully with their surroundings.

Ruse Estate is registered with Land for Wildlife (2154), a voluntary nature conservation State government and Parks and Wildlife Initiative.  The Estate is home to the likes of Quenda (bandicoot), Phascagales and Ringtail Possums and many other animals such as frogs, racehorse goannas and skinks. The Estate is also graced with visits from birds such as the beautiful colourful splendid wren, Carnaby, Baudin and Redtail cockatoos, eagles and other birds of prey, and the elusive Masked Owl. They are hoping that their property will be used in the future for controlled release of some of these endangered animals and birds.

100% can not fault! Owners were amazing and very helpful. Chalets were spotless and looked brand new. Situated 15 minutes from Margaret River there are beautiful fields and animals everywhere. Strongly recommend

Really nice accommodation - Karen has done a fantastic job setting up these chalets. The quality of the fit-out is exceptional, and the loaf of bread provided was artisan.

Outstanding accommodation and hospitality in a beautiful vineyard / estate. We had a truly lovely time at Ruse Estate. Thanks so much to Karen for being such an accommodating host, and an amazingly helpful person. Accommodation - 5/5 and excellent in every aspect. It is modern, clean, spacious and we can see and feel the incredible amount of effort that has been put into the details. Aside from the lovely bedrooms and bathrooms, the living area was a proper highlight for us. Double-height ceilings with windows which let in the perfect amount of light, a truly fantastic fireplace which works so well and is completely smokeless with very well-designed ventilation and sealing. Kitchen is fully equipped with quality utensils and comes with an electric hob with four burners, ventilated hood, a full-sized oven, full-sized fridge, dishwasher, Nespresso machine (with capsules), and washing machine. Everything is new; everything works perfectly. It’s obvious that no expense has been spared in making the chalet as comfortable and functional as possible; and let’s not forget the beautiful interior design. Surroundings - 5/5 (I would give 6 stars if I could). If you’re looking for the quintessential Margaret River experience ie staying in a vineyard, close (but not too close) to nature, looking out to stunning scenery from the comfort of your living room, having a bbq on the front porch (gas bbq supplied), then look no further. We stayed in the early-May, which is Autumn, and the yellow-orange-red colours of the foliage were spectacular (photos attached). It doesn’t matter where you look or the time of day; there is a beautiful scene to be found everywhere on this estate. The property itself is about 90 acres and it’s got a little bit of everything from Margaret River all in one place - immaculately maintained (and functioning) vineyard, gentle slopes carpeted with green grass, several large and picturesque reservoirs, a grand tree-lined driveway leading to the owner’s house (private property), and outstanding infrastructure. In summary, Ruse Estate is a phenomenal place for a short (or long) getaway for anyone looking to experience Margaret River and all its wonderful attributes which make it one of the prettiest places on earth. Its owners take great pride in what they do, and have put in a tremendous amount of effort into making its chalets and the surrounding environment as perfect as possible. We very much look forward to coming back, and to sampling the estate’s first wine label (WIP 2024) soon. P.S. We stayed as a couple for four nights in Meeka Chalet. There are three chalets (only) in total, and this means total privacy, exclusivity and personal attention to detail by its owners.

A stunning property tucked away from the hustle and bustle of town but close enough to explore the region then come home to beautiful chalets amidst the vines and trees. A peaceful place where you can relax and enjoy the tranquillity. A walk around the property reveals the serene spaces that change with the seasons. The hosts are friendly and committed to providing a perfect getaway for you. Absolutely magical.
