Please meet the Margaret River Surf School van at Redgate Beach Car Park 10 minutes prior to your lesson. Directions: From Margaret River town head South on Bussell Hwy. At the roundabout turn right onto Boodjidup Rd and continue to the end. Turn left onto Caves Rd. In 2kms turn right onto Redgate Rd and continue all the way to the beach car park.

Operating for over 30 years, they cater to anyone willing to give it a crack. All ages from beginners to advanced, there is a lesson to suit you! Get the passion, and feel the thrill with lessons starting at $60, all equipment supplied. Hire equipment is also available.

Group lessons are for any person over the age of 10 years old. If a child is under the age of 10 years they are required to be booked into one of the private lesson options.

Margaret River Surf School runs 2-hour group and private surf lessons for all ages and abilities from beginners to advanced. 3-day courses are also available. Discounts available for schools, corporate and large group bookings. All equipment provided. Fully qualified coaches

My son, Cameron, participated in surf groms while we were on holiday. We cannot praise the team highly enough. The coaches were patient, kind and fun. My son loved it. He's only 7 and struggled initially. But, by day 3, he was much improved. I think it's important to give positive feedback. You're doing a fabulous job.

It was a good call on the side of the school to change locations the night before as the waves were higher and rougher at the original location. We had a good 10 to 15 minutes to change into fitting wet suits. Followed by another 15mins or so understanding the waves, the dangers and safety precautions. Unfortunately, it felt like a lecture with minimal practice. Following that we tried some moves of lying on the board to getting up into standing on the board on the sand. I wished we had some practice of these moves in the water by the beach. With my 7 and 9 year old, we were asked to wade in the water about 20 away from the beach and to lie on our boards. Our coach Arthur would then push us onto a wave towards the beach. Unfortunately my 7 year old did not appreciate this approach as it was all too daunting for her with the waves pushing against her at the belly and chest. Despite requests to the coach to let my son try the first wave, we were ignored and he sent my 7 year old daughter on the first wave. She reached the shore crying and traumatized. And her session ended there. My 9 year old son on the other hand enjoyed the session. I unfortunately did not have much time to be in the water as my daughter was crying on the shore. Overall, this 2 hour private lesson for 3 was not worth the price. Only one person had a proper lesson. I would definitely suggest that coaches plan the session ahead of time with their students' needs in mind. Despite multiple times of informing the coach that my daughter has yet to swim independently, he put her in much distress by using her as the first example in the surf. Would appreciate if the coaches were trained in learning theories too. Would not recommend this school to families with younger children who are not yet confident swimmers.

I had my first surfing lesson at 63 today and loved it. Arti was a great coach, very knowledgeable, patient and was great with all the safety aspects. 10/10

I recently had an amazing experience at this surfing school! Artur and Jorge were my instructors, and they were not only incredibly knowledgeable but also super fun and laid-back. Their guidance was invaluable, and the level of assistance and service provided by school in general was top-notch. I highly recommend this school to surfers of all levels – you won't be disappointed!
