Master Potter Ian Beniston is known for his lustrous copper red glazes and for producing decorative art pieces and sophisticated tableware with a distinct East Asian influence.
Working from his Sensei Pots studio and gallery near Yallingup, Ian has worked as a professional potter and ceramic artist for over 30 years and is highly regarded for the exceptional quality of his craftsmanship, use of bold colour and for producing classic clean lines and curves.

Sensei Pots is a quaint gallery set on four acres, surrounded by bush and bamboo gardens. The gallery features a wide range of Ian’s work including handcrafted pottery and ceramic art, with large decorative pieces and homewares including; ceramic bowls, plates, teapots, serving dishes and vases.

The gallery looks into Ian’s studio and workshop, where visitors can see the space in which each piece has been created and at certain times may have the opportunity to watch Ian at work on the wheel.

Ian has been creating tableware for the critically acclaimed Vasse Felix restaurant since 2015 with the restaurant recently named WA Good Food Guide 2021 Restaurant of the Year and amongst the Top 6 restaurants in the country by The Weekend Australian.

Beautiful pottery. Great service.

A creative owner who moulds the pots in a section of his home. Nicely welcomed with a pond water fall. Lovely design of various ceramics I should say. Good for art lovers.

Nice visit if you're in the area. Small gallery with workshop, cute doggo, sincere, award winning and very knowledgeable artist. We picked up some keep cups but would have loved to adopt some key peices. Gorgeous craftsmanship! Definitely next trip.
