Located on the east side of Cape Naturaliste, this calm, turquoise bay is protected from the westerly winds and ocean swell. Perfect for swimming, fishing and relaxing and a picturesque spot for a picnic with gas BBQs, picnic tables and wheelchair access. Castle Rock is located at the end of Castle Bay, accessed by a meander along the beach or via the Meelup Trail offering incredible views.
If you're a lover of wildflowers, this is the place to come - head east on the coastal track towards Castle Rock and the whale lookout or head west towards Meelup Beach and you'll find several varieties of Spider, Mustard, Jug, Donkey and possibly the rare Cape Orchid. Native Rose, Pimeleas Hooded Lily and Acacias (Wattles) can also be spotted here.

It is also a great surf break if you venture off the beach. When the swells are big and dangerous along the coast head to Castle Rock - it is protected and holds good swell with great long rides.

Beautiful spot to visit, it has a parking area and toilets. On the far end of the castle rock has a little cute spot where you can soak your feet or have a picnic while watching the waves crashing on the rocks 🪨 Definitely recommend this place to visit if you love nature and ocean

Beautiful ocean bay. Walked the Castle Rock Walk (45minutes) along the coast, well worth doing.

The scenic track from Castle Rock to Dunsborough, Western Australia, offers breathtaking views of Geographe Bay. This 4.5km trail winds through coastal bushland, featuring granite outcrops, wildflowers, and towering eucalyptus trees. As you walk, the track reveals stunning vistas of the bay, with the turquoise waters stretching towards the horizon. Keep an eye out for dolphins, whales, and seabirds. The track ends in the charming town of Dunsborough, where you can enjoy local cafes, shops, and beaches. A perfect blend of nature, scenery, and relaxation.

Castle Rock is located at the end of the Castle Rock Road turnoff of Meelup Road at Cape Naturaliste. There are public toilets as well as access to a nice beach and walk southeast along the shore lined with rust coloured granite boulders that reach a large rock formation known as Castle Rock. You can also visit Castle Rock along the Meelup Reserve Trail that passes by as well. The rock formation itself is interesting. We also enjoyed walking past Castle Rock and enjoying the very large boulders on the southeast side. Very impressive seascapes and views of the Geographe Bay from this location.
