The Wadandi Track is a family-friendly trail that stretches 25kms from Cowaramup, through Margaret River and down to Witchcliffe.
It was originally the railway line that transported goods and passengers between Busselton and Flinders Bay, however train services ceased in 1957 and by 1965 most of the infrastructure had been removed.
Open to walkers and cyclists, it is a relatively flat trail that is a great introduction to riding off-road. It passes through beautiful forests and farmland, with plenty of scenic spots to stop and enjoy the surroundings.
For more experienced riders there is also the option to veer off into mountain bike trails, in particular Wooditjup and The Pines just north of Margaret River.
For bike hire, information and maps, visit The Hairy Marron in Margaret River or The Golden Jersey in Cowaramup.

Riding the Wadandi Track was such a refreshing experience — a perfect mix of peaceful nature and scenic variety. The trail flows through forests, farmlands, and vineyards, with stretches of tall karri trees and open countryside that make it truly stunning. It’s an easy, relaxing ride on a mostly flat path that’s well-suited for both cycling and walking.Along the way, there are lovely spots to stop for photos, enjoy the wildflowers, and take in the quiet sounds of nature. I especially loved how serene the forest sections felt — birds calling, fresh air, and stretches where you can just cruise and enjoy the moment. Some signage could be clearer at a few points, but that’s part of the adventure. If you’re in the Margaret River region, the Wadandi Track is absolutely worth exploring — whether by bike or on foot. It’s a great way to unwind and reconnect with nature while discovering a bit of local history too.

Well maintained trail for cyclists, walkers or runners. I highly recommend you check it out for a few hours of fresh air and exercise.

Took the eBikes for a lap.
Old rail line makes for easy grades and lovely track.

This is a wonderful track running up the west coast. Unfortunately not well sign posted.
I started on the track But there are quite a few other tracks.
So I got onto wrong one.
Wish I could have walked along further.
