Cape Naturaliste

Cape Naturaliste is the northernmost point of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge.
You can explore the Cape Naturaliste coastal scenery by taking short walks along the boardwalks and lookouts, which include the Cape to Cape Track that runs between the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and Sugarloaf Rock. This is a world-class, levelled and bituminised trail that hikers of all abilities can tackle (including wheelchairs) and it includes 1 kilometre of timber boardwalk. The view will take your breath away and is an incredible vantage point to spot whales between September to December.

A number of other trails from Cape Naturaliste are:

Cape Naturaliste loop - distance 3.8km

Whale Lookout walk - (return) distance 2.4km

Cape Naturaliste track to Sugarloaf walk - (one way) distance 3.5km

Bunker Bay loop - distance 3.6km

Cape naturaliste light house has amazing views and its mostly breezy here. We had booked for a $15 guided tour. Our guide walked us to the lighthouse which is a walkable distance from the entrance and explained us the history of lighthouse. He was very friendly and engaging. It’s a great place to visit. 👍🏼

Very nice spot for hiking and watching the sea. Department of parks and wildlife really needs to clean up the paths as they are VERY overgrown in places. It's one thing to get close to nature but another if nature whacks you in the face with a bush. Also the trails that google maps shows here are not all accurate. Many are permanently closed or in rehabilitation. So take note of the local signage or which tracks are actually there (see my photo below). Some trails are more accessible than others if you cant walk very well - like lots of jagged coral rocks in them. The one to the whale watching platform from the carpark is pretty good. And the one to the north western lookout on the Bunker Bay Walk Trail from the Naturaliste carpark is also good. Just dont go via the Shelly cove way.

Walked from Yallingup to Cape Naturaliste and it was magical. Even spotted a whale. The part between Cape Naturaliste and Sugarloaf is all sealed, the rest isn't but very easy. There is a bit of the track on the beach (about 200 m long)
