The Credaro family first settled in Margaret River in 1922 as a pioneering family to the region, after migrating from Northern Italy. Initially involved in farming and the timber industry, small plots of vines were planted to provide the family with table wine.
Cesar Credaro was the first generation of the family to reside in the area of Margaret River and he worked in the one of the first vineyards in the region. Though it no longer exists today, it was a five acre vineyard that was established around 1915, near Commonage Road. He would work on this property whenever possible, between his farming and timber interests.

Cesar, with the help of the family took some cuttings from the Yallingup vineyard where he worked and planted an acre of the Italian Red Variety (Fragola) at Carbunup. The family would make a parcel of wine every year, for themselves and the neighbouring families. The Fragola has now evolved from site to site with each generation of the family over the years. This wine today is known as the Credaro Family Estate Fragola.

The family has been commercially involved in the wine industry since the 80’s, when their first plantings began supplying other established Margaret River wineries.

Today the family manages 120 hectares of vines in the sub-regions of Carbunup, Treeton, Yallingup and Wallcliffe. The Credaro family own three separate vineyards, with current plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and Merlot and two small plots of Fragola and Gewurztraminer.

The Credaro Winery is situated in Carbunup and was built in 2003. The Credaro Family Estate wines identify the best parcels of fruit from selected vineyards owned and managed by the family. Beach Head wines are designed to enjoy at any occasion, utilising a range of fruit from the vineyards at affordable prices.

Nicely presented winery with suitably friendly hosts. However, we weren’t able to purchase the wine we came for unless we joined their wine club. We did not wish to do so, and despite our best efforts we were refused. Tasting menu is pricey ($15pp basic, $20 premium), and the two of our party who did the tasting menu didn’t like any of the wines, noting they were too acidic and lacked complexity. That said, taste is a personal preference, and I’m sure there are some nice wines to be had here.

My parents just arrived from Italy and this was our first winery. I have to say that the Wine is wonderful, and Steve, the host is simply the best. Mum and Dad are very impressed with the kindness and welcoming. We will see you again. Thank you so much

This winery is not to be missed! The wine and company was exceptional, with wonderful Steve at the helm. Sitting out on the porch, pounding Sangiovese and taking in the vines is a 20/10 experience. Would have been 25/10 if it wasn’t for Rhys but these things can’t be helped.

Credaro Family Estate was such a huge highlight of our trip. My friends came from Sydney to Perth to visit, so my goal was to show them all of the wonders of Margaret River. WELL the jewel in the crown of Margaret River is this place. My friends are the biggest wine snobs ever having been to Napa Valley, New Zealand, Hunter Valley & Mudgee exclusively on wine trips & they all said the wines were incredible. They all bought 3 bottles each. It was hard to distinguish between how they could possibly keep getting better. I myself was not drinking. What should have been a bit of a boring experience for me as the sober one was made wonderful by the incredible service provided by Steve. Steve made me a cup of English Breakfast tea to enjoy on the terrace & really went the extra mile to make sure it was a good brew. (This is so important to a Northerner) he was incredibly informative, passionate & so very funny too! “This wine is good for 20 years..in my house it lasts about 20 minutes”. We were treated like royalty and it really made me proud to be representing the West. Thank you Steve. You are the best in the west & we bloody love you.
