Margaret River & Great Southern wine specialists, producing the Howard Park, MadFish & Marchand & Burch wine labels. They are the only winery in the region handcrafting champagne method sparkling wine in-house.
Welcome to the Howard Park & MadFish Wines cellar door – one of the most memorable tasting experiences in Margaret River.
Proudly owned by the Burch Family, they are the only winery in the region to make champagne method sparkling wines in-house, with up to four different sparklings to try.

Howard Park was founded in 1986; one of the pioneering wineries of the Great Southern wine-making region. With two vineyards both in Margaret River & also in Mount Barker, they offer a unique & educational multi-regional approach to their wine tastings. Their MadFish wines have been inspired by Western Australia’s coastal lifestyle since 1992. These include an ever-evolving line-up of small batch alternative varieties, made in experimental styles exclusive to cellar door.

The building itself is one of the foremost examples of architecture in the Margaret River region, awarded for its Feng Shui design & judged among Australia’s top 12 buildings. Set on 138 hectares of vines & native bush-land, less than 5 minutes from the town of Cowaramup, the property is a spectacular place to witness the changing of the seasons. The winding tree-lined driveway passes a traditional old settlers cottage & the famous Willyabrup Creek on its way to the cellar door.

Whether you go there to taste, learn, or indulge, the cellar door team will tailor your visit for a truly memorable experience. The cellar door is surrounded by spacious lawn areas, where you are invited to join them at one of our many annual events, or bring your own picnic, borrow a blanket & a bocce set & enjoy a glass of wine under the sun. In the winter months you can cosy up inside on the couches with a wine by the fire.

The team at Howard Park & Madfish Wines look forward to welcoming you. Contact them for any special requirements you may have prior to arrival.

Visited this winery off the cuff last week while in the region. The cellar door is amazing, the property just fantastic. The lady at the cellar door, Kathy, was just incredible and so welcoming and full of information. We placed an order for delivery and joined the wine club. Rang today to adjust the delivery timeline now we are back home and nothing was too much trouble. I look forward to many more wines via the wine club in the future.

Easily the number 1 winery we have ever been to. The women here made our wine tasting experience the best we have ever had. Very knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble and their sense of humour and personalities did the business proud! Their Jete Sparkling is the best sparkling we have ever had. Needless to say we left buying plenty from here.

A class above the rest. The service from the manage and staff was exceptional - welcoming, friendly, accommodating and genuine. Absolutely loved the wines here they are top quality. The cathedral-like building is brilliantly balanced with a homely type feel. There is an open Piano for any brave musicians and toys for the kids to play with. Most importantly our children were just as welcome and encouraged to feed the big fish. There is plenty of picturesque open space and lush greenery to enjoy after a tasting. Highly recommend !

The only maker in Margaret River who adopt traditional Champagne method for the sparkling wines. Also, very beautiful and modern cellar, sophisticated in both service and products. We liked many from the variety of wine lists and purchased a dozen! NV Howard Park Brut was very fruity and has enough complexity. Sauvignon Blanc tastes very classic. Muamup Chardonnay has strong mineral and is creamy at the same time, single original from Margaret River. They also offers Mad Fish brand, a bit reasonable but not less tasty, we loved Malbec and Pinot Gris which is only 3 palettes this year and only sold at cellar door at the time.
