Redgate Wines is located in a beautiful part of the Margaret River Wine Region and close to the wild coastline where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet. Bill Ullinger founded the business in 1977 when he purchased the land, cleared it and planted the first 20 acres of vines. Since then, Redgate has grown into a 55-acre vineyard with its own winery, cellar door and enviable reputation for producing boutique wines of premium quality.

The vineyard is planted to Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Shiraz, Chenin Blanc, Merlot and Chardonnay, and the oldest vines are now over 32 years old. The winemaker, Joel Page joined Redgate Wines in 2011 and brought enormous experience and expertise to Redgate. The wines have benefited accordingly and gained rave reviews and medals.

If you love wine, do yourself a favour and visit Redgate Wines 🍷✨ Seriously, the quality is next level - every sip just hits. The complimentary tasting is insane - huge, varied, and honestly, a little overwhelming (in the best way!) 🤩 The staff? Absolute legends - friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate, which makes the whole experience feel so warm and fun. Can’t recommend it enough - 10/10 would come back again and again!

Love love love this winery! I’m not a big wine drinker unless I come to redgate. The wines are absolutely beautiful! Ray is an absolute gentleman who gives you so much of his time/ knowledge and energy. Such a kind and beautiful person. You truly feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. The scenery and peace surrounding the winery is just amazing. I love coming to Redgate it’s just bliss!

Redgate Wines is the kind of small business that makes you believe in magic again. We rolled in expecting a quick tasting, maybe grab a bottle for dinner this evening. Instead, it felt like walking into your grandparents’ house on a Sunday afternoon—someone’s already laughing, someone’s pouring wine, and suddenly you’re family. Ray, the manager, is the main character of this story. Hilarious, welcoming, and dangerously good at his job. He doesn’t just pour wine; he narrates your journey from “I’ll just try one” to “Wait… how many bottles did we buy?” (For us, the answer was five. Don’t judge—we were under the influence of joy.) Let’s talk wine. The rosé? Summer in a glass. The Cab Franc? Smooth, bold, and exactly the kind of red you tell your secrets to. The white sparkling bubbles? Pure celebration. And the Shiraz bubbles? Like a party that shows up uninvited and somehow pays for everyone’s Uber home. Every sip hits like a new inside joke with an old friend. I can’t wait to pair this with Blue Cheese later! The energy here is unmatched—warm, alive, and full of love for what they do. This is a family-run vineyard that pours passion, not pretension. If you’re anywhere nearby and not tasting wine, you’re doing it wrong. Skip the celery sticks, grab a glass, and come meet Ray. He’ll have you laughing, sipping, and buying more wine than you planned—but you’ll thank him later.

Had a lovely time doing wine tasting here. And there is no charge for wine tasting. Staff were really friendly and accommodated. Their wines are great too, lots of history on the place. Highly recommended.
