Night Calling Premiere

calendar
Tuesday, 12th March 2024 - 4:30pm to 8:00pm

Description

Journey into the mysterious world of owls at the premiere of Night Calling, presented by Owl Friendly Margaret River and Capes Foundation.

Discover how Margaret River became Australia’s first ‘owl friendly’ community — a tale of passion, tragedy, and the tireless quest to protect wildlife in the Margaret River Region.

Encounter live owls, explore educational stalls, and engage in a Welcome to Country by Wadandi Elder, Dr. Wayne Webb, along with a thought-provoking introduction by MRBTA Chair Stuart Hicks AO and the premiere film screening of Night Calling.

Following the screening at Margaret River HEART – Nala Bardip Mia, you are invited to participate in a conversation facilitated by wildlife photographer Steve Castan with the film’s director, Sue Taylor, ornithologists Dr. Boyd Wykes and Dr. Robert Davis (ECU), and wildlife expert Tara Finch (Eagles Heritage) during an intimate Q&A session.

You’re invited to an evening of wisdom, community connections, and the opportunity to explore local-level actions that make a real difference in protecting our majestic owls.

Tickets include pre-show canapes by The Larder, and a choice of wine or beer, proudly sponsored by Voyager Estate and Margaret River Beer Co.

Owl Stalls will take place from 4:30pm to 5:30pm, followed by the film premiere at 6pm and Q&A.

This is a licensed event, children under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.
