The MRSA is a family-owned business that teaches ocean safety, awareness and surfing in a fun, safe environment.
They share their ocean knowledge with all walks of life, catering for children, travelling surfers, corporate groups, schools and private and individual learn-to-surf lessons.
Owner Simon Tien is an avid surfer and paramedic and knows the waters like the back of his hand. It is important to first learn basic surf skills and how to read the waves with the strength of the Indian Ocean. The south Indian Ocean can be a powerful and foreboding area without the right guidance and education.

Absolutely thrilled with our first-ever surfing lesson at Margaret River Surfing Academy! The instructors were not only highly skilled and safety focused, but they were also incredibly patient, making the experience enjoyable for both the adults and the kids in our group. Their passion for surfing and dedication to teaching shone through, creating a positive and memorable atmosphere. From mastering the basics to catching our first waves, the guidance was top-notch. We couldn't have asked for a better introduction to surfing. Kudos to the entire team at Margaret River Surfing Academy for an unforgettable day by the waves! 🏄♂️🌊

Had a blast with our instructor who was very positive and encouraging, it wasn’t a stiff or impersonal lesson and just adjusted according to how we were going which is perfect for this kind of experience. Loved it and will recommend all the time

Everything you'd want from a surf school. Safe, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and fun. They provided a wetsuit, board and wax. All you need is a towel and some zinc. My 12 year old loved it. Great guys with heaps of love for the sport that they want to share with you. Highly recommended.
