Family Friendly Breweries With Playgrounds: Wild Hop Brewing Co
28.11.2023

Yes, the Margaret River Region is scattered with fabulous fine dining and over 100 cellar doors to visit for a spot of wine tasting, but sometimes all you want to do is chill with the fam.

Enter: the brewery. You can happily come from the beach with thongs and shorts on, with the kids in tow and, at some joints, even pets can join. Most breweries in the region have an option for some nosh too – whether you opt for a bowl of chips to tide hungry bellies over until dinner, or a casual but quality bite for lunch.

These are the ultimate family friendly brewery picks. Not only is there plenty of good beer and space to stretch out at these wholesome venues, but they all have a playground so you can enjoy a pint or a glass of wine while busy bodies are occupied within view.

Cheeky Monkey Brewery & Cidery

Cheeky Monkey have been a mainstay on the brewery circuit for some time, and they hold claim to one of the most adventurous playgrounds on this list. Situated at their Caves Road location, the playground is ripe for little explorers to get busy. There are plenty of climbing frames along with the piece de resistance: a high rope water crossing. Of course, there is also their fully fenced, brightly coloured playground to play on, and fun activity packs for kids to keep busy with at the table – that’s on top of a solid list of brews and brewpub fare to keep the adults happy too.

CBCo Brewing

A short drive from Margaret River, CBCo Brewing sits out on Osmington Road amidst vineyards and lush green pastures. With one of the biggest playgrounds in the region, the kids will be kept busy while you kick back with a sample paddle of some craft brews and chew on their famed chicken wings and pizza. Kids are also well catered for, and if they fancy a run around there is a box full of balls and games to kick around with on the brewery’s expansive grounds. Older kids will love the challenge of hitting a golf ball and trying to land it on the little island on the lake.

Beerfarm

Kids big and small all point to one thing when they arrive in the warmer months at Beerfarm. You can’t miss it: a giant waterslide into the dam. (Full disclosure: it’s only for the actual kids.) This venue is the definition of casual, and you’ll be welcomed for a relaxed bevy and bite to eat along with the kids whether in Ugg Boots or a summer dress. Inside you’ve got pinball and pool tables, while outside sits the playground and the famous slip ‘n’ slide. A converted dairy farm, the kids will be entertained simply gazing at the cows down in the paddock. Extra points for their commitment to reducing their water and energy consumption while still pumping out great beer. Cheers!
